Bilingual Family Board
Bilingual Family is a charity with headquarters in Scotland. We are governed by the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, which is overseen by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
The Bilingual Family Board Members 2024-2025 are

The Board Members are elected for one year at a time during the Annual General Meeting held in October each year. Board Members can stand for re-election during the Annual General Meeting. All Board Members are also Bilingual Family Trustees.
The Board is responsible for the compliance and governance of Bilingual Family:
- makes decisions that prioritise the charity’s aims and beneficiaries
- ensures all activities align with the objectives as stated in the constitution
- abides by Scottish charity law and other relevant legislation
The Board oversees Bilingual Family’s finances:
- manages finances responsibly, ensuring funds are used efficiently and exclusively for charitable purposes
- maintains accurate financial records, prepares annual accounts, and submits an Annual Return to OSCR
- ensures fundraising activities are ethical and comply with the law and relevant codes of practice
- encourages donations from the public, applies for grants and other funding opportunities to sustain the charity’s activities
The Board is in charge of the strategic leadership of Bilingual Family:
- sets the charity’s direction by establishing long-term strategies and objectives in line with the charity’s purpose
- creates and implements policies to guide operational and strategic decisions
The Board is responsible for managing potential risks to Bilingual Family:
- identifies potential risks, be they financial, operational, or reputational, and implement measures to mitigate them
The Board ensures that Bilingual Family stays accountable and transparent in its activities:
- maintains transparent communication with stakeholders, including donors, beneficiaries, members, and OSCR
- demonstrates that the charity provides public benefit, as required by OSCR
The Board must conduct itself with integrity and has collective responsibility:
- declares and manages conflicts of interest to maintain integrity and trust
- makes decisions collectively and shares joint responsibility for the outcomes
The Board is in charge of human resources and safeguarding:
- oversees the recruitment, management, and welfare of volunteers
- ensures policies are in place to protect vulnerable groups involved with the charity
Bilingual Family is a charity founded on 8th of August 2024. Our headquarters are in Scotland and our founding members are former Ambassadors for the Erasmus+ PEaCH Project, which you can read more about in the Our story section.
