Marisa Filgueras is a linguist and an educator from Seville (Spain). She spent 20 years in the United States, where she obtained her PhD in Spanish Applied Linguistics and was teaching Linguistics, Bilingualism, and Spanish courses at the university level. Currently, she teaches at the University of Seville in the School of Education. She also has two bilingual children that were born in the U.S. and had Spanish as a minority language there. However, after moving back to Spain, Spanish became the majority language and English the minority, so she is aware of all the wonders and challenges of raising bilingual kids in different contexts.
